• Try the exact last name and variations on the first name, including just an initial.
• If you have the middle initial, include that also.
• Try your last known city and/or state as the city/state where they last received benefits.

Alternatives

If you know where the person died, you can try to search the newspaper archives in that location for an obituary.

You may also check with other institutions they may have had degrees from.
